The City of Gilbert is accepting applications for an Equipment Operator II

Must meet minimum qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must possess a Minnesota Class B drivers license; must be able to obtain Class A license within one (1) year of employment
2. Requires two (2) years of experience in heavy equipment operation, truck driving, or a related field.
3. Considerable knowledge of:
a. equipment, methods, and operations used in street maintenance
b. standard material, equipment, and safe work practices related to light and heavy equipment operation
c. equipment, methods, and operations used in street maintenance
4. Working knowledge of:
a. traffic laws, ordinances, and regulations involved in equipment operation City rules and regulations related to recycling and refuse collection pickup
b. the location of City streets and alleys and the route schedule
5. Considerable skill in the operation of light and heavy equipment in and alongside traffic
6. Considerable ability to operate heavy and light equipment to maintain and repair streets, haul material,
remove snow, clean streets, mow grass, and apply sand and salt to City streets
7. Considerable ability to operate recycling truck including driving safely along City streets
8. Working ability to:
a. communicate effectively with City staff and the public
b. prioritize work and to work independently with minimal direction
c. assist with street, water, wastewater, park or electric distribution work, as needed
d. follow oral and written instructions and maintain records
